Technical Information

Our fire department takes pride in what we have.  We are blessed to operate with good and modern equipment.  We try to stay ahead by keeping up with the future.  Our city allows money in the budget each year to do this.  We have also been lucky to received some assistant form the FEMA firefighter assistant grant and Home Land Security grants. 

We put firefighter safety first.  That's why each firefighter is outfitted with good quality PPE (personal protective equipment)

We also protect our firefighters in another way, Knowledge.  Every career firefighters is 1001 I & II certified and the paid on call firefighters have Volunteer certification.  All firefighters must have HazMat Operations Awareness and the career firefighters are required to be HazMat Tech I certified.  We do in-house training with the entire department twice a month.  We also have training drills with the outer lying departments that we give and receive mutual aid to.

Another reason we use technology is public safety.  We have high tech and specialized equipment like thermal image cameras, air monitors, and geographic information system.  We utilized this equipment to identify and respond to incidents quicker and safer.  The faster we can get on scene and locate hazards and victims, the publics chance of survival is greatly increased.
