Fire and Life Safety Education Program

FIRE ACADEMY FOR KIDS

Fire Academy for Kids is a curriculum based summer program, which is cosponsored by the MS State Department of Health’s Programs for the Prevention of Fire Related Injuries.  The purpose of this program is to let children spend part of the day at the fire department in an academy type-learning environment.  In addition to fire and life safety issues participants will observe and learn some of the everyday task firefighters perform, i.e., hose rolls, knot tying, C.P.R. and first aid, search patterns and fire behavior.

This is a weeklong program (Monday-Friday) that will run from 9:00a.m. - 12:00 (noon) each day.  Applications for the academy will be posted on this web site, after this year’s dates are chosen.
